Teun Huijg is an experienced pension lawyer who has proved his worth at renowned firms such as Stibbe and Houthoff Buruma. Teun is a member of the editorial boards of the journals Tekst & Commentaar Pensioenrecht [Text & Commentary on Pension Law], Pensioen Jurisprudentie [Pension Case Law] and Tijdschrift voor Arbeid & Onderneming [Labour & Enterprise Journal]. He is also the secretary of the Pension Lawyers’ Association and a member of the Pension Law Advisory Committee of the Netherlands Bar Association. Teun has unique experience with complex pension issues. He has acted as counsel in prominent indexation, financing, termination and employee participation proceedings (Delta Lloyd, ING, PostNL, KLM, Pensioenfonds Shell and Pensioenfonds Unisys). He has also conducted various proceedings against supervisory authorities. In addition, Teun is one of few pension lawyers with extensive experience with general pension funds. For example, Teun was involved in the formation of two general pension funds.
Teun has registered the following principal (and secondary) legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister): Employment Law > Pension Law.
Based on this registration, Teun is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
Teun (1980) is an Amsterdammer in heart and soul. He and his girlfriend have two daughters and a son. Baseball (coaching and refereeing) and swimming (open water) make his heart beat faster.
