Mark Heemskerk

In addition to being a lawyer, Mark Heemskerk is a professor of pension law at Radboud University Nijmegen and a deputy judge at the Court of Appeal in s-Hertogenbosch. He has been combining pension science with pension practice for 15 years. This enables him to translate complex pension issues into understandable advice via scientific insights. Mark worked at Houthoff Buruma for almost 10 years and then worked at a pension law firm (Blom Advocaten). His economic degree combined with state-of-the-art legal knowledge helps him to better advise clients. Mark has written several books on pension law – including the standard work Pensioenrecht [Pension Law] – and numerous articles. Mark is a much sought-after speaker and lecturer and is a member of various editorial boards.

Mark has registered the following principal (and secondary) legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister): Employment Law > Pension Law.
